LS430 LS430R Bi-Xenon Projector Conversion

The LS430R projector conversions

We’ve been working on some projects lately for an in-house build and wanted to share one of the latest setups

We took a standard LS430 projector, modified it with a TSX-R lens and some minimal lens spacing to achieve great output. The color, sharpness and intensity are great – not to mention the mind-numbing width you get from these projectors. All things you would expect from an upgraded projector. While they are not for everyone (both with fitment and stock-form-function), those who seek out the LS430’s can often be left wanting more (or anything for that matter) in terms of a high beam or bi-xenon function. Sometimes running an auxiliary high beam isn’t ideal or an option. We set out to change this.

In the past we’ve seen a small number of these conversions – often with a larger solenoid on the bottom/backside of the projector – read reports of shield vibration or “looseness” and couldn’t dig up a good bit of information on availability. We wanted to change that for those that are in search of what some could consider “the best projector”. Now admittedly there may be projectors out there that have better high beam output or slightly better depth – perhaps they have better color or are of course more compact for a wider range of housing use & fitment. But our end results on these are simply awesome – and we wanted to share not only those pictures but offer this as a service for anyone that’s interested.

In the pictures below you’ll see a pair of LS430 projectors. One has been converted to a bi-xenon, while the other is simply upgraded with a clear lens. Both are nearly identical in appearance, size and measurements. The LS430R bi-xenon projector in exterior appearance merely has two solenoid wires running out from the side of it. In the output shots you’ll note the additional sharpness along the cutoff line (as the new shield is not a stock cast aluminum piece), exceptional color and clarity and absolutely ZERO loss of width for the low & high beam output. These shots were taken with the projectors spaced approximately 40 feet from the wall and the camera back/angled at around 60-65 feet. Bulbs are Philips 85122+ at 35watts.
